Mode of action
The bactericidal action of Ciprofloxacin
results from inhibition of the enzymes
topoisomerase II (DNA gyrase) and
topoisomerase IV (both Type II
topoisomerases) which are required for
bacterial DNA replication, transcription,
repair, and recombination.
